Druins (part 7)

The final bell of the day rang, and Bekki couldn't help but jump with joy. After some strang looks she slid in her chair, embarrassed. Tori silently giggled behind her, and David started choking on the water he was drinking. Tori walked over and gave him a shove on his stomach. He was fine, but it was Bekki's turn to laugh. The class filled out of the classroom, and the trio walked to the crosswalk.
"What are your plans for tonight?" Tori asked after she stopped laughing.
"I have to babysit Genie, but I really need to go to the mall!" Bekki complained.
"I'm just doing homework," David sighed. Tori rubbed his sholder, and was very careful to bend her hand so she wouldn't hurt him.
"Why do you need to go to the mall?" she asked.
"I need to get some gym shoes," Bekki sighed. Tori looked at her thoughtfully for a second as the group finally got the ok to cross the street.
"I'll do it!" Tori practically scremed once they got to the other side. Bekki gave her a suspicious look, but accepted the fact to be true.
"Can I help?" David asked. Bekki rolled her eyes and nodded. Trenton practically worshiped David, and David couldn't get enough of the little guy. Her mom wouldn't care. The only thing she had to worry about was Genie possibly slipping to David about Druins. Bekki didn't think it was to much of a worry though since Mrs. Fields had made her promise not to tell either. Their wasn't much danger in telling someone like David, but if any scientists or reporters found out about Druins they would all be packed up and sent to a labrotory for testing. The possibility of a zoo life wasn't far off either. The trio trekked the four blocks to Bekki's house and David scrambled to the phone to let his mom know where he was. Tori sat down at the kitchen table, and watched Bekki make some coffee.
"How long have you been dating?" Bekki asked cautiously. Tori thought for a second.
"I'd say about a 5 months," she admitted as if it was a bad thing.
"Do you care about him?" Bekki responded.
"Well, he's been our friend for like ever, so I guess I do!" Tori blushed.
"I meant do you care for him as your boyfriend?" Bekki scoffed. Tori turned even redder.
"Well, kinda!" Tori squealed, and Bekki gave her a "tell me the truth" look.
"Okay!" Tori confessed, "I don't really see him as a boyfriend more of a boy who's your friend that I just so happen to kiss now and then!"
"You're so bad!" Bekki gently chided as she patted Tori on her back. David entered the room, and sat down at the table beside Tori before Bekki could ask any more. Bekki looked upset, and Tori looked like Christmas had come early.
"Oh!" came a cool voice from the doorway, "They're here!" Bekki turned around to see her little sister in the doorway. Her hands were on her hips for a second, but they dropped quickly and she now looked like she had remebered sometthing that made Tori her best friend. Genie ran across the room and threw her arms around Tori's neck. Tori's hand flew to her neck.
"She's not strangling me!" she said in awe. Everyone's jaw dropped except Genie's.
"I would never strangle you!!" Genie giggled, and let go of Tori's neck. Everyone knew that last time she had tried to hug any Druin(except Mrs. Fields) she had tried to strangle them. Bekki, recovering from the shock of it all, told Genie her friends were in charge while she ran out to the mall. After mouthing to Tori to be careful of Genie she ran out of the house. Genie looked around the room, and smiled.

Creepy huh??

Peace, Kelsey
